We are making a story that could be aired on a show called Hiki No, which is a show run by kids just like me. Everyone in our GT class was put in groups of 4 and together we have to make a video. It could either be a news story or a profile. A news story is 3 minutes long. And a profile is 2 minutes long.
There are 3 other people on my team, Arianna, who is like our leader, Ashley, and Eden. We decided to make our project a news story. It is about water safety because we think that's a big issue, especially here in Hawaii. So far we have interviewed 2 people, Kaleo Lopez, a lifeguard, and Williama Gonsalves, a paraplegic. We have made a lot of progress and we have a lot of B-roll. I think we have a good start. It seems to me like we might be behind a little, but we are working very hard!
When the camera isn't rolling, we are mostly on the computer trying to transcribe our interviews. I realized that transcribing is pretty hard. Also, we would also work on our Writing Tools worksheet and our Pitch Sheet. Which kind of helps to organize our news story. Besides filming, most of the project is done on the computer.
To help my team, I will try to be on top of things. I want to be prepared before hand for all of our interviews. I also want to make sure that we finish all of our work on time. I think that if we are prepared for things then our project will run much smoother. With lots of help from Arianna, our leader, I think that this will be a great news story!
What's up people!
